Bauwerks photography studio has been in Chicago’s Lincoln Park since 1999. We have been focusing our lenses on a wide range of subjects from sports celebrities including Dennis Rodman, Israel Idonije, Jorge Soler and Corey Wootton to political figures including Education Secretary Arne Duncan, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Archbishop Blase Cupich to executive leadership of Fortune 500 companies such as Microsoft, Unilever and PetSmart as well as hundreds of local businesses, entrepreneurs, artists and individuals.

Bruno Passigatti, Principal Photographer | Founder
Bruno brings close to 40 years of hands-on photography and graphic design experience to the table and has been involved in just about every scenario and aspect of professional photography. He started shooting for newspapers in his teens and was published numerous times in the European press before he reached the age of 20. Some of his early photographic influences were Brassaï, Robert Frank, Gordon Parks and Man Ray. The fact that he taught himself Aldus Photostyler, a predecessor to Adobe Photoshop, back in 1990 and purchased his first digital camera in 1992, speaks volumes about his devotion to professional photography.
He has years of experience in the analog film world and today’s digital art and craft of photography, ranging from 35mm Leica’s to large format 4×5 view cameras all the way to modern professional digital cameras. Bruno is also is in charge of all design, marketing and technical aspects at Bauwerks Photography Studio in Chicago and serves as beta tester for Adobe Photoshop. In his spare time, he likes to take a “break” from his trade and spends his evenings and weekends photographing urban landscapes around Chicago or teaching photography. Bruno is a member of American Photographic Artists APA.
Photography Session Makeup Artists & Hair Stylists
Our hair stylists and makeup artists are full-time freelance professionals with vast experience working on the set of a photo shoot or video project. All artists proficiently work with all skin and hair types. They will consult with you prior to the shoot and review your outfits to achieve the desired look whether it’s a natural “no makeup” look to a more dramatic, glamorous evening look. We recommend that you bring sample photos for makeup or hair in order to best communicate your preferences. Makeup and hair services are provided in our studio or on-location.
Anna Chilinski, Makeup Artist and Hair Stylist
Anna has been trained and educated for all media production by London Eyes International Academy of Makeup and Hair. She has had extensive experience in Sweden, Poland, and the United States. Since 2003, Anna has directed, created, and applied makeup designs for fashion shows, theater, video productions, photo shoots, performances, and individuals. She is a hard worker who perseveres until reaching her goal. She is an enthusiastic and creative person with a great attitude towards her work, and she is always eager and willing to learn. She is a an excellent team player and considers makeup and hair styling to be a creative exercise in outer and inner metamorphosis. Her goal is to share her love of makeup with everyone she can.
Amy Banas, Makeup Artist and Hair Stylist
Amy is a very versatile professional and enjoys working on a wide range of projects. She has provided her services to a variety of projects and companies since 1994 such as The Voice, American Idol, The Knot, Random House, Old Spice, Saks Fifth Avenue, WCIU-You & Me in the Morning and Max Mara. She received her education from Columbia College, Chicago, including advanced media training in photography and video makeup. Her passion is to apply the art of makeup through “the right attitude, technique, and rhythm”. She strongly believes that good makeup enhances a person’s character and personality and enforces the objectives and concept of a photo session without too much distraction. Amy also specializes in face contouring for black and white fine art photography. She works with many individual clients and companies throughout Chicagoland on a daily basis and also teaches makeup courses at local colleges such as Columbia.
About the Chicago Photography Studio
Bauwerks is a member of American Photographic Artists APA. By being a member, we strictly adhere to their code of photographic business ethics and professional practices. We operate a conveniently located storefront studio and offices with a personal touch and a comfortable feeling centrally located in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood just north of Chicago’s downtown Loop business district. We are located 1 block north of the intersection of Clybourn, Fullerton and Ashland at 2475 North Clybourn Avenue. Our studio features multiple sets including a variety of backgrounds, props and an authentic outdoor urban setting with century old brick walls. We work with leading camera and strobe equipment, print processing materials and digital imaging software.
